Anderson native representing South Carolina in 2016 Miss USA pageant this Sunday
COLUMBIA, SC (WACH) - Fifty-two contestants will compete in this year's Miss USA pageant at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
You'll be able to catch the competition live on FOX this Sunday, June 5 beginning at 7/6c.
You'll also catch 22-year-old Anderson native Leah Lawson compete for this year's crown.
Lawson is an honors graduate from Presbyterian College with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry.
Lawson was very involved while at Presbyterian College. She was a member of the PC cheerleading squad, the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority and conducted honors research on golden nanoparticles her senior year.
Lawson is currently a realtor assistant for Berkshire Hathaway Home Services while she pursues a music career.
Lawson is an active member of the community, working with organizations such as the Suzan G. Komen Foundation, Big Brother/Big Sister Program, Relay for Life and Children's Miracle Network.
In her free time, Lawson enjoys singing and writing original music, hot yoga, traveling the world and living a healthy lifestyle through diet and exercise.
