CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- College of Charleston students are learning the business of rock and roll from someone who's been there, done that.
The Post and Courier reported Sunday that Hootie and the Blowfish founder and guitarist Mark Bryan is teaching a music management class.
The 42-year-old rocker got together with fellow band members 20 years ago while they were students at the University of South Carolina in Columbia.
Bryan now lives in Charleston and bikes to his class on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. He says he enjoys sharing what he's learned with budding musicians and students looking for a career in the music business.
Course topics include ticketing, publicity, touring, booking agents, record labels, publishing, travel, social media and how to learn from your mistakes.
