COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Helping teens make healthy choices is the goal of the Right Choices Jam Teen Health Fair.
Middle and high schoolers enjoyed a fun filled day at the Denny Terrace Community Center.
Guest speakers taught the kids in attendance that it doesn't take much to lead a healthy lifestyle.
The group says healthy choices today can help avoid so many health risks affecting American teens tomorrow.
"This epidemic that we have now of childhood obesity is affecting generations and we need to prevent that and so we need to start now," says Tia Stewart, event organizer. "We need to say enough is enough and give our children more knowledge, empower them to go out and make better decisions when it's time to eat and also work out and exercise."
The Richland County Recreations Commission sponsors the event.
