Pickens schools to dismiss early for Clemson football
Thu, 07 Nov 2013 13:20:18 GMT — PICKENS, S.C. (AP) -- Pickens County schools will dismiss early next week to avoid traffic congestion at a Thursday night Clemson football game. Officials said elementary schools will dismiss at 1 p.m. on Nov. 14. Middle schools and high schools will end classes at 2 p.m. The Tigers host Georgia Tech that night. School employees will be required to work their normal hours. District officials anticipate that traffic in the Clemson area and around U.S. 123 in Easley will make it impossible for buses to take students home in a reasonable amount of time. The school district said it also was concerned for student drivers in the traffic. After-school activities will be held based on the decision by each principal.
