Judge to rule Monday on District II election date

A federal judge plans to rule Monday on whether the city of Columbia can hold the District II election on Tuesday. That comes just one day before the voters are scheduled to visit the polls.

Several people are asking a U.S. District Court judge to stop the election arguing the city has not received the necessary approval from the Justice Department to move forward yet.

City officials have asked but have not gotten a response yet.
