A father is grieving the loss of his 20-year-old daughter after she was found shot to death in a Myrtle Beach motel early Monday morning.

The body of Colee Muirhead, 20, of Myrtle Beach, was found in a room at the Beachcomber Ocean Front Inn on South Ocean Boulevard at approximately 1:16 a.m., according to officials.

Police say she had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene, but no arrests have been made yet.

Her father, Colin Muirhead, says she was a star athlete at St. James and Socastee High School where she played golf.

He said she was on the St. James women's golf team as an eighth grader because they couldn't find enough talent at the high school level.

The 20-year-old was at the point in her life where she was "finding herself," her father said.

"Colee was a kind-hearted individual, she loved her friends, she loved her family. She was just a little lost at times but, you know, she was also finding herself and that's not easy to do now a days, its not easy at all," he said.

Colin Muirhead also said he had talked to his daughter on Sunday when she asked if the family would be gathering for dinner at her grandparents.

He told her they weren't and he asked where she was and she said was with a friend.

Colee had a young daughter and, according to her father, put her child first in everything.

He said he's going to miss "everything," about his daughter.

"Everything, she's my daughter. I'm going to miss everything. Her voice, her smile, everything," he said.
