17-year old charged in Lakewood High School email threat.

SUMTER (WACH) -- Police have arrested a 17-year old male and charged him for the email threat against Lakewood High School in Sumter Thursday afternoon.

According to a warrant, the teen sent the threat by cell phone to the Sumter Police Department. In the email, authorities say he stated he placed four bombs around the school. He also said that he would shoot as many students and teachers as possible.

The teen was taken into the custody at Lakewood High School.

Among the charges filed against the teen: Weapons/Possession threatened or attempted to use a weapon of mass

destruction for the act of terrorism, not resulting in death.
