2 charged in connection with Christmas robberies in Lexington County
LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WACH)-- A Gaston man and woman are facing a number of charges in connection with two robberies that occurred the week of Christmas.
According to the Lexington County Sheriff's Department 18-year-old Jaren Meyers and 22-year-old Pearalisha Mills have been charged with armed robbery, kidnapping, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and criminal conspiracy.
Investigators say the duo are responsible for a robbery at the Dollar General in Gaston as well as an armed robbery at a convenience store in West Columbia.
The two reportedly took cash while preventing individuals from moving or leaving the stores.
“Detectives have worked hard to identify these two suspects,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. “Both of them could provide us with helpful information about other robberies that took place during the 2017 holiday season.”
Mills was arrested Tuesday in Lexington County by members of the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force, according to Koon. Meyers was arrested earlier this year on separate charges.
Both are being held in the Lexington County Detention Center.
