Husband, wife charged in connection with Orangeburg Co. home invasion
ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WACH)-- The Orangeburg County Sheriff's Department has arrested two suspects in connection with a home invasion in North.
Jeffery and Jessica Perry, both 24, of Kershaw, have each been charged with armed robbery and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
“This lady trusted these people since she knew them for a long time,” the sheriff said. “But they betrayed that trust and put this lady in jeopardy.”
A woman said Jessica Perry and her husband were longtime acquaintances who helped her in her home from time to time.
On Oct. 5 the victim called 911 after being robbed at gunpoint stating the while Jessica Perry was in her home, an unknown male rushed in and demanded money at gunpoint.
After taking cash and the victim's medications, the two fled the home and entered a blue minivan where Jeffery Perry waited before speeding off.
The victim suffered minor injuries during a scuffle with the gunman, who has been identified.
Warrants are being sought for that person as well.
Jeffery and Jessica were taken into custody Friday with the help of the Lexington County Sheriff's Department.
Bond was set on each at $15,000 during a hearing on Saturday.
