      2 die in wreck near Georgetown

      Two people have died in a wreck in Georgetown.

      GEORGETOWN, S.C. (AP) -- Two people have died in a wreck in Georgetown.

      The South Carolina Highway Patrol says the wreck happened at 12:05 a.m. Sunday when a car ran off the road and hit a ditch.

      Trooper Bridget Wyant says the vehicle overturned several times, throwing the driver from the car.

      Georgetown County Deputy Coroner Sam Hodge says 27-year-old Teneal Linen was driving the car. Linen was pronounced dead at Grand Strand Regional Hospital in Myrtle Beach.

      The passenger, 19-year-old Tyquan Jones was flown to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston where he died.

      The patrol says neither victim was wearing a seat belt.
