HARTSVILLE, S.C. (AP) -- Two people are in custody after the shooting death of a toddler in Hartsville.
Police Chief James Hudson says the 21-month-old girl was shot and killed Monday evening in the backyard of a home.
Authorities say the shooting happened following an argument between two adults. It was not clear whether the child was a target or was hit by a stray bullet.
One of the adults was taken into custody late Monday night after authorities searched the area.
Neither the name of the child nor the names of those in custody and what they are charged with have been released.
