2 men charged in missing Orangeburg man's death

Leroy Glover, Jr., 25

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) -- Two Santee brothers are charged with murder in the death of a 61-year-old Orangeburg man.

Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said Monday the charges stem from the death of Mike Carter, even though the body presumed to be Carter's found shot in a burned-out vehicle last week has not been positively identified.

Ravenell says 25-year-old Leroy Glover and 23-year-old Jason Glover are charged with arson, murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. It was not immediately known if they had attorneys.

Ravenell says the victim rented a mobile home to Leroy Glover.

Authorities say Carter went out late in the afternoon of Sept. 23, to collect rent. That evening, Santee firefighters put out a fire in a vehicle by a road and found the body inside.
