COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Two more people have been indicted for their alleged roles in a multi-million Ponzi scheme in South Carolina.
Indictments unsealed earlier this month accuse Gordon Hall and Benton Hall of conspiring with Wallace Howell to hinder a federal investigation of Ronnie Wilson.
In November, Wilson was sentenced to 19 years in prison for mail fraud and ordered to pay more than $57 million in restitution. Prosecutors say the former Anderson County councilman and Howell promised to buy and sell silver for customers but invested little of the $90 million they took in, either losing it or keeping it for themselves.
Prosecutors say Howell tried to hide precious metals from authorities by sending them to the Halls.
Court documents listed no attorneys for the Halls.
