ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) -- Two of three women charged in the stabbing death of Branchville Fire Chief Alan Oakley have been sentenced to 30 years in prison.
The Times and Democrat of Orangeburg reported (http://bit.ly/1jPraH2 ) that Oakley's 41-year-old wife Melody, 48-year-old Ann Anderson and 25-year-old Carrie Brown pleaded guilty Tuesday in Orangeburg.
Officials said the trio conspired to kill the chief after he told his wife he wanted to end the love triangle that included his wife and Anderson.
Melody Oakley pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and conspiracy. Prosecutors said Anderson was the one who stabbed Oakley and she pleaded guilty to murder and conspiracy.
Brown pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and conspiracy, but Judge Ed Dickson delayed her sentencing.
