      3 charged in May Lake Murray boating deaths

      COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Officials say charges have been made in two different boat accidents that occurred on Lake Murray in May.

      Lt. Robert McCullough with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources says two Lexington County men were charged Thursday with felony boating under the influence A third man was charged with B.U.I.

      Officials say Steven Kranendonk was driving a boat that killed Kelli Bullard and Amber golden of Alabama. Kranendonk is charged with two counts of felony B.U.I.

      Bullard's family speaking Thursday in Richland County Court and asked the judge to consider setting no bond for Kranendonk.

      "This very special life was cut short by someone who lives reckless with no consideration for others," says Kelli Bullard's mother.

      Steven Miller was driving a different boat when he collided with another boat killing two men the same day. He's charged with two counts of felony B.U.I. as well.

      The third man, David Porth is charged with boating under the influence. He was operating the boat that struck Miller's boat.

      Both accidents occurred within less than a half hour of each other.
