COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Three men are being sentenced for their roles in running an illegal gambling business in Columbia.
A federal judge on Wednesday is set to hand down sentences for Brett Parker, Jack Parker and Douglas Taylor.
The men were convicted in September of running a gambling operation which prosecutors said collected thousands of dollars a day.
Brett Parker is serving two life prison sentences for killing his wife and a business partner last year. Prosecutors said Parker killed his wife, Tammy, in April 2012, and tried to frame it on Bryan Capnerhurst.
Parker testified unsuccessfully that he shot Capnerhurst after the man came into his home, quickly killed his wife, then demanded money.
