ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) -- Three more trustees at South Carolina State University are leaving the board, meaning nine of the school's 13 trustees will have joined the school's leadership since 2013.
Trustees Patricia Lott, Robert Nance and Bob Waldrep did not file for re-election this week. Their terms end on June 30.
State lawmakers voted out several trustees last year in the wake of problems at the school that led to the resignation of the president, the firing of several high-level employees and the indictment of a former chairman of the Board of Trustees.
Trustee candidates must file by Jan. 30. The General Assembly will screen the candidates and vote on them in the spring.
