4 more arrested for Two Notch Papa John's murder

COLUMBIA (WACH) -- The Richland County Sheriff's Department is announcing four additional arrests related to the shooting death of a Papa John's pizza store manager earlier this month.

Officials say they've arrested 23-year-old Edward Walker, 20-year-old Darnell Crocker and 24-year-old Carwin Pettis and 22-year-old Timothy Fisher.

Last week, deputies arrested David Wesley Watson, Sr. in the June 3 Two Notch Road murder of 34-year-old Steven Fowler. Fowler, of Irmo, was the manager of the Papa John's restaurant and was killed during an attempted robbery.

Investigators say Crocker was a former employee of Papa John's and knew about the store's money deposits. Crocker, Walker, Pettis and Fisher were armed with BB guns, according to deputies.

Watson and Walker are also accused of robbing the desk clerk at the Comfort Inn and Suites on Thursday, June 2 along with several other hotels the day before.

Forensic evidence also led investigators to connect Crocker with vandalizing air conditioning units.

All five suspects remain at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

Sheriff Leon Lott will hold a press conference Thursday to release more details into the arrests.
