44th Colonial Cup more than just a race
Sat, 23 Nov 2013 22:15:28 GMT — CAMDEN (WACH) -- The 44th Colonial Cup at Springdale Race Course was a day for family, friends, food and fun in Camden.
The annual fall horse race saluted the men and women in the armed forces and a special group of new recruits officially became member of the Army.
Camden residents say they look forward all year to the fall race.
While it's a little quieter than the spring Carolina Cup Races, fans say it's a good time to reconnect with family and friends.
"There's something special about such a small town and a small organization being able to put on such a big event, it's just a really a huge undertaking and it requires so much of the people here, that it's special to all of us," said Jessica Gates.
