COLUMBIA (WACH)- Students at the University of South Carolina have been sent letters due to having their personal information on a stolen computer.
USC spokesperson, Wes Hickman, says the computer with student's full names and social security numbers was put into service in January of 2010.
"Every student that received a letter gets an individualized toll free number", says Hickman. "They can call that number to get counseling and guidance on how to proceed forward."
Thus far, according to Hickman, no one has been affected.
The laptop was reported missing in April, and used to generate and grade tests.
