RICHLAND COUNTY (WACH) - A CrimeStoppers tip helped Richland County deputies bust a gaming house and make one arrest.
Sheriff Leon Lott says Community Action Team deputies found seven illegal gambling machines, a .38 S&W revolver, more than $6,500 and a glass jar containing marijuana inside a home on Stone Street.
Betty Graham, 73, was arrested and charged in connection with operating a gambling house, the gaming machines and drugs.
The sheriff says ledgers used to operate the gaming house, which included information such as payouts, IOUs and profit and loss were found by investigators.
Lott says the ledgers are proof Graham was operating an illegal operation.
Graham was taken to the Richland County jail for a bond hearing.
Lott plans to continue to actively locate and charge anyone possessing gaming machines or operating illegal gambling operations or playing in Richland County.
