COLUMBIA (WACH) - An elderly couple is recovering after at least three men forced their way into the couple's home at gun point last Thursay, according to the Columbia Police Department.
Authorities with the department say the suspects, including 19-year-old John Brandon Foster and at least two unidentified individuals, are accused of forcing their way into the home and making verbal death threats to an 87-year-old man and his 84-year-old wife.
According to the incident report, the suspects are accused of pointing guns at the couple and saying "get down on the ground or die." Several items including a wallet, purse, electronics, jewelry and guns were taken from the home. Some of the items were recovered and taken into evidence.
The female victim, who received a cut on the head after a suspect allegedly hit her with a gun, told investigators that she tried to fight off the men with her cane, but the suspects pushed her down. She was treated for her injuries and released from a local hospital.
The suspects are wanted by police in connection with the home burglary, armed robbery, and kidnapping. According to the incident report, the male victim observed all suspects carrying handguns.
The department describes Foster as armed and dangerous.
