Some Columbia residents made a statement on a national issue Saturday in 5 Points. The Carolina Peace Resource Center hosted a No War With Syria rally.
Demonstrators held up their handmade signs showing their opposition to the US military intervening in Syria. The protest is part of a global No War With Syria Day which has rapidly gained fire via social media.
One protestor was even a Syrian native who shared how her family and friends in Syria view America's attempt to intervene.
"Most those I know see it as this is just the wrong answer. It's not a solution at all. Some can be with it but this is out of despair, out of fear, out of that's it, you know, just find any way-anything that could end it. " says Manar Shabouk, who is a native of Aleppo, Syria.
