Alzheimer's Association seeking more money to help patients, caregivers
Columbia, S.C. (WACH)-- Advocates and caregivers marched to the State House Tuesday to raise awareness for Alzheimer's disease.
The association says funding to help people caring for loved ones with the disease reduces their emotion and financial burden.
Currently there are 5.5 million Americans living with the disease. More than 84 thousand of those people live in the Palmetto state.
Advocates are asking lawmakers for more resources for Adult Protective Services.
