COLUMBIA (WACH) â?? Rogers says of Miss New York Mallory Hagan, who was crowned Miss America on Saturday.

Rogers, who was the â??odds on favoriteâ?? to win the national title, is proud to have won several of the awards within the competition , including

      Preliminary Lifestyle and Fitness

awards, the Miracle Maker Award, and a

nod. She also credits family and friends for helping her surpass her fund raising goals of $20,000 for the

      Childrenâ??s Miracle Network

, the official charity of the Miss America program.

With a list of titles behind her, including Miss Laurens County 2009, Miss South Carolina Outstanding Teen, and

      Miss South Carolina

on July 14, 2012. Since last summer, Rogers has balanced the duties of Miss South Carolina, which she calls a â??full-time job,â?? with preparing for the Miss America competition which was held in Las Vegas.

Rogers returns to the Palmetto State to carry out her year of service and says with a smile, â??I thought I was busy before.â?? She explained that her appearance calendar is filling quick, as she is asked to speak at schools and civic organizations throughout the state.
