COLUMBIA (WACH)â??The numbers are staggering â?? 40,000. 40,000 men die every year from prostate cancer, says Dr. Tom Edmunds. According to Edmunds, one 1 six men will be diagnosed at some point in their lifetime, but only 1 in 34 will die from it.
Dr. Edmunds believes that those 34 succumb because they didnâ??t discover it soon enough, not that it was ultimately a death sentence. He urges getting checked if you are over the age of 40.
Dr. Edmunds joined Tyler Ryan on a special â??Man Showâ?? edition of Good Day Columbia to talk about testing options, including the PSA test, and other ways to beat prostate cancer.
