Arrest made in shooting that left 18-year-old dead

Sheriff Leon Lott says Brice Coley, 18, is charged with murder in the shooting death of 18-year-old Moses T. McKnight.

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WACH) - Richland County deputies arrested a man Thursday in connection with a late night shooting Tuesday that left one man dead.

Sheriff Leon Lott says Brice Coley, 18, is charged with murder in the shooting death of 18-year-old Moses T. McKnight.

Coroner Gary Watts says McKnight died from complications of a gunshot wound to the head.

Authorities say McKnight was found in the road at Hilo Street and Sheffrey Court near Leesburg Road around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Lott says Coley and McKnight were involved in a previous physical altercation and a series of disagreements that may have led to the shooting.

Investigators arrested Coley Thursday afternoon after questioning witnesses and acquaintances of McKnight, according to Lott. Additional arrests are possible.
