Arthur has become the first hurricane of the 2014 Atlantic Hurricane Season. The storm continues to move north along the east coast of the united states. The Midlands and Low Country could see some of the outer bands from the storm today. There is also a cold front on the way that could help bring more showers and storms to the area.
The main threats from the storm stay to our east, with coastal South Carolina under Tropical Storm Warnings and coastal North Carolina under Hurricane Warnings.
As of 8am this morning, Arthur has strengthened some. The winds have increased to 80mph and pressure has dropped to 983mb. The storm iteself has picked up speed, now moving NNE at 9mph.
