COLUMBIA (WACH) - Athletic training students from across South Carolina came to Columbia Friday for a unique workshop.
The University of South Carolina athletic training program hosted their annual conference on training students Friday, showcasing some of the latest technology in sports therapy.
Students from Clemson, College of Charleston, Winthrop and several other school attended and participated in different stations.
Gamecock Head Athletic Trainer Clint Haggard held a discussion about concussions and identifying ACL injuries as well.
"It's really a great opportunity for the students to get together, network, talk, and it's a great learning opportunity," said Jim Mensh, Director of the USC Athletic Training Program. "They're going to be certified athletic trainers with the goal of providing health care, not just to colleges and professional settings, but the high school settings."
At the end of the conference, there was an athletic training quiz on overall knowledge. The winning school will represent the state at the Mid-Atlantic Trainer's Association competition in Greenville this spring.
