COLUMBIA (WACH) â?? If you are hungry today, seeing blue lights may be more of a welcome sight than usual.
Over the next three days, officers from USC Police Services, the South Carolina Protective Services, Columbia Police, and Highway Patrol will be on the roof of the Five Points Chick-Fil-A, raising money for the South Carolina Special Olympics.
Vice President of Programs and Communications Sue Maner says that there are over 22,000 Special Olympics athletes in the state, and the money collected from the donations will go directly to the games planned for next month on Fort Jackson.
Officers will be broadcasting the mantra â??Badges and Bovinesâ?? from the roof of the restaurant on Harden Street Thursday and Friday from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. and on Saturday from 6 a.m. until noon.
