Batesburg father and son charged with burglary

COLUMBIA (WACH) - A Batesburg father and son have been charged with third-degree burglary of a storage facility.
Lexington County deputies arrested a 41-year-old Darryl Jerome Hill and his father, 68 year old Jerry Myer Hill of Batesburg on charges that the two men broke into a storage building off Peachland Road near Gilbert on Thursday, March 20. Just before 1:00PM on Thursday, deputies got a call for help from the property owner concerning suspicious activity near his storage building off Peachland Road. Ploice stopped on a black-and-gray 1995 Ford F-150 pickup truck that was being driven by the Hills on a driveway that leads from the storage building to Peachland Road.
Police found four metal pig feeders, a motorized land tiller, a steel tractor bumper and a commercial dishwasher in the cargo bed of the pickup truck. The stolen items are worth a combined total of about $750.
Darryl Hill and Jerry Hill, who is the father of Darryl Hill, each were released from the Lexington County Detention Center on Friday, March 21 after Darryl Hill and Jerry Hill each posted a $15,000 bond.
