Leonard Vaughan from the National Weather Service in Columbia sat down with us and went over ways in which we can all be prepared this hurricane season.
Below is a list of everything you should have on hand as the Atlantic Hurricane Season gets underway:
-Flashlight and batteries
-First aid kit
-Water proof bag for important documents and papers
-Check insurance policy for flood insurance
As a storm moves closer, it is also important to have these items:
-Food and Water
There are many ways to stay informed this hurricane season, and a great tool is the 2014 South Carolina Hurricane Guide. This pamphlet, created by the South Carolina Emergency Management Division, has everything you need to know about this hurricane season. You can pick one of these up at your local Walgreens, or view it on their website, scemd.org.
