COLUMBIA, SC (WACH)--The Colonial Life Arena was alive with African-American culture Saturday.
The 16th annual Black Expo of Columbia gave the community a chance to show their contributions. The event featured music, dancing, food and vendors. Several fraternities and sororities were there along with the South Carolina National Guard.
There were also seminars and cooking demonstrations.
The Friendly Caterer Co-Owner Sandra Sims said she has participated for the last 12 years.
"It is important for us to be here, to be a part of our community." Sims said. "To show other people that we can do this. We all come together, supporting, getting to know each other. We are doing what this is designed to do; and that is to network."
WACH Fox's Darryl Hood, Fraendy Clervaud, and Shyann Malone all participated. WACH is a proud sponsor of the Black Expo.
