The investigation into what led to the death of four people on Lake Murray earlier this month continues.
Just over two weeks ago, four boats collided in two separate crashes.
The fatalities were the first on Lake Murray this year, and the 11th for the state.
Department of Natural Resources Lieutenant Robert McCullough says criminal charges are possible.
"If someone causes great bodily harm or death, that is a charge that would be very similar to a DUI charge on the highway," says McCullough, "but there are any number of charges that could come out from very minor safety violations to major charges. I'm not saying those would happen or not, but possibility of those always exists."
McCullough also says the DNR is still waiting on toxicology reports to see if alcohol played a role in the late night crashes.
