Body found of missing West Columbia woman; husband and son charged with murder

COLUMBIA (WACH)â?? The West Columbia Police Department said the body of a missing West Columbia woman was found late Wednesday afternoon.

Investigators say Susan Wilkes' body was discovered in the upper end of Lexington County near Little Mountain.

Lieutenant Morrison of the West Columbia Police Department said the husband and son of Wilkes, Marion Wilkes and Joseph Cody Wilkes, are both in custody and charged with murder in connection of the death of Susan Wilkes.

Investigators say the inconsistency in their statements led police to believe they were responsible for the disappearance and death of Susan Wilkes.

Police say Marion Wilkes is also facing a drug charges.
