COLUMBIA, SC (WACH)--From science fiction to history, book fanatics got to learn more at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.
The annual South Carolina Book Festival continued Saturday. It was filled with more than 80 exhibitors, 50 sessions, and hundreds of authors signing books and speaking.
The free event also included workshops for people who want to become writers; along with rare books to see.
"They have proven that if a student or child can read, they can excel in any area they want to in their life," Director Paula Watkins said. "With our state statistics on literacy, this is one effort to really promote reading."
