Camden residents are jazzed for the weekend

20 bands. 14 locations. 3 days. This is how the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County will be presenting the Jazz at the Center Music Festival this weekend across Camden. Residents and visitors alike will take in a wide range of jazz musicians playing in various indoor and outdoor venues.
Kicking off with a happy hour reception in the Wood Auditorium at the Fine Arts Center located on Lyttleton Street, will have light hor d'ouevres and a cash bar. There will also be a jazz memorabelia exhibit just prior to the opening concert featuring Swing 42- Hot Club of Columbia.
Some of the other venues throughout the weekend include The Olde Town Tavern, The Venue on Broad, Kershaw County's Farmers Market, The Garden Gate Gallery and Frame Shop, Grace Episcopal Church as well as the Arts Center and several participating eateries that are participating in the Downtown Restaurant Crawl.
The shows and venues offer such a variety that just about everyone from the young to the young at heart will find a time and place to enjoy the sounds of traditional and contemporary jazz ensambles.
