CAYCE, SC (WACH)--The town of Cayce saw the luck of the Irish and Scottish Saturday.
The Columbia Speedway hosted the 3rd annual Tartan Day South; celebrating all things Celtic. It was a chance for the community to eat traditional foods like meat pies and haggis, learn more about the heritage, shop for unique items, and see plenty of people in kilts.
Saturday's events were capped off by the Highland Games featuring several men and women that competed in events.
"So many people in our area have Scottish and Irish descent in their families through generations," said coordinator John Banks. "It is great to get out and immerse yourself in a different culture for a day. It is like traveling across the pond without ever leaving Columbia."
Tartan Day was deemed by Congress to celebrate Irish and Scottish culture.
