Chris Wooten wins Lexington Co. runoff for District 69
LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WACH) -- Voters have chosen Chris Wooten as the Republican nominee for the South Carolina House of Representatives District 69 seat.
On Tuesday, Wooten faced off against Lexington One school board member, Annie Marie Eckstrom Greene, at the polls.
The seat has been empty since being vacated by former representative Rick Quinn, who resigned following a State House corruption case.
Wooten is a former Marine and also a former law enforcement officer. He also owns a fitness center in Lexington.
Wooten, at his campaign party at Uno's in Lexington, says that he hopes to alleviate the concerns of residents within the district and restore confidence.\
"This is were I chose to put my roots," said Wooten. "Because it is such a fantastic place to live and the people of this town really need great representation and that's my intent all along to provide integrity and trust back in the state house."
District 69 covers areas in Lexington and West Columbia.
Currently, Wooten is the only candidate vying for the House 69 seat during the election on May 1st.
