COLUMBIA (WACH)--Do you ever wake up and think about what you're going to put on your feet? Its a reality for 300 million people who go without shoes each day and millions of others are plagued with foot-borne illnesses that may be preventable by simple protection â?? shoes.
Midlands coach, William Knopf, has made it his mission to help provide shoes to those in need. The head basketball coach at the Glenforest School has coached 62 games barefoot and will take off his shoes a 63rd time Monday night to raise awareness for Samaratin's Feet.
Samaratin's Feet has a goal of donating 10 million pairs of shoes in 10 years, to date, its donated 4 million.
In January, Coach Knopf will kick off his shoes for the 4th Annual Barefoot Walk, one of several fundraisers and awareness campaigns he's organized
in the Midlands.
