Cold front pushing showers through the Midlands
COLUMBIA, SC (WACH) -- The chance for tornadoes is possible as severe weather moves into the Midlands Monday.
Columbia's National Weather Service branch says they've heard some reports of tornadoes at least being seen in the area, but nothing has been confirmed.
Residents can still expect showers and a few stronger storms in the Midlands as a cold front moves towards the Atlantic coast.
A cloudy sky will cover the area with isolated showers. A line of storms is expected to move through the Midlands around 4PM.
That line will produce the strongest wind gusts and has the potential to produce a brief isolated tornado.
The tornado threat for the day is minimal but cannot be ruled out.
Behind the front, we will see a clear sky with much cooler weather.
