College entrance test scores down 2 points
Mon, 13 Sep 2010 16:29:07 GMT — COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) --The average SAT scores for South Carolina's graduating seniors are down -- falling this year two points on top of last year's nine point drop. When private and home-school student scores were added the average score rose to 1,447. That is five points lower than last year. The 1,447 average score for all South Carolina students compares with a national score of 1,509 for 2010. The College Board says 5 percent more South Carolina public school students took the test this year than last year. The scoring gap between white and black students dropped by 11 points in South Carolina this year compared with 2009.
