Mon, 04 Aug 2014 14:18:57 GMT — COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Mayor Steve Benjamin and Columbia's Parks and Recreation Department are giving kids in South Carolina's capital city a way to stay active this summer. The fifth Annual Back-To-School Drills and Skills Clinics get underway Monday at different parks and recreation centers around Columbia. The clinics are free, but registration is required. Organizers say the weeklong clinics give kids ages 6 to 17 a chance to learn basketball, tennis and golf and stay active while school is out.
The festivities wrap up Friday with a skills competition and a school supplies giveaway.
