Columbia Police Department searching for two sexual assault suspects

Suspect 1 ... wanted for questioning in sexual assault happening Saturday March 15th on South saluda Avenue

COLUMBIA (WACH) - The Columbia Police Department is asking for your help in finding two suspects, represented in these sketches who are wanted for questioning in sexual assaults that occured recently in Columbia.

The first incident happened on Saturday March 15th around 11:00PM on South Saluda Ave, where a female victim tells police an unknown male broke in and sexually assaulted her, then left on foot. He is described as a dark-skinned black male with dark curly hair, possibly in his 20's, standing between 5'7" and 5'10", and weighing between 150-170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a hoodie

The second incident happened at approximately 6:00AM on Monday, March 17 on North Beltline Blvd, where a female victim tells police a man broke into her residence and sexually assaulted her at gunpoint. He is described as a dark-skinned black male, with dark hair, last seen wearing a 'doo-rag' on his head. He is possibly between the ages of 20-30-years-old, standing between 5'1" and 5'6", and weighing 140-170 pounds.

Both victims received medical attention at a local hospital. At this time, there is no known connection with the cases or suspects, however Investigators with the Special Victims Unit continue to investigate.
