Columbia police looking for missing woman

Columbia Police Chief Randy Scott hopes the community can assist investigators in locating 24-year-old Rachel Marie Goodnight.

COLUMBIA (WACH) - A Columbia woman has been reported as missing.

Columbia Police Chief Randy Scott hopes the community can assist investigators in locating 24-year-old Rachel Marie Goodnight.

Goodnight was last seen at 951 Hazelwood Road in Columbia around March 28.

That is also the last day Goodnight's mother recalls speaking with her daughter on the phone.

According to the Columbia Police Department, it is believed Goodnight did not have a permanent address and frequented a recently demolished homeless camp at the Hazelwood Road location.

Goodnight's mother reported her as missing on Tuesday after repeatedly trying to contact her with no success. It is reportedly uncommon for Goodnight to not call or speak with her mother daily.

Goodnight is described as a white female with brown hair, brown eyes, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, and approximately 250 pounds.

She has multiple tattoos: The word "Faith" is tattooed on the right side of her neck, the initials "RAE" are tattooed on her left foot, and there is a tattoo of a cross with the words "In Memory Of" on the lower part of her right leg.

Individuals with information about Goodnight's whereabouts should call the columbia Police Department at 803-545-3500.
