Columbia Police looking for Vista shooting suspects

Columbia, SC (WACH)--The Columbia Police Department is looking for two suspects wanted in connection with a shooting at the Vista Friday night.

Police say a man and woman were approached by two black males while getting into their parked vehicle around 1 a.m. on the 1200 block of Lincoln Street.

One suspect demanded the couple's belongings after opening the driver's side door. Authorities say that is when the male victim got out of the car and began to fight with the suspect. According to the report, the male was punched in the face by the second suspect. The victim was also shot in the chest. He was taken to a local hospital where he is in stable condition.

Police say the two men were seen on surveillance cameras before the incident occurred. They are described as black males wearing dark pants, jackets, and shoes.

One of the suspects was wearing a black 'pull down' cap with ear covers. The other had a red and black plaid cap with ear covers.

Authorities say they drove a dark, late model possible a 2010 to 2012 Dodge Avenger. It may be missing a hub cap on the left front side or a spare tire.
