      Commanding General of Fort Jackson suspended, accused of adultery

      Officials with the United States Army announced Tuesday afternoon that Brig. Gen. Bryan T. Roberts is suspended of his duties as Commanding General of Fort Jackson.

      COLUMBIA (WACH) - Officials with the United States Army announced Tuesday afternoon that Brig. Gen. Bryan T. Roberts is suspended of his duties as Commanding General of Fort Jackson.

      Harvey Perritt, spokesman for U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, says Roberts was suspended due to allegations of misconduct, including adultery and a fight.

      Brig. Gen. Peggy C. Combs, Commandant of the U.S. Army Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear School, will serve as the interim commander until the investigation into Roberts is complete, according to Perritt.
