Coroner rules North Main shooting a murder-suicide

Two bodies have been found on the corner of North Main Street and Sunset Blvd.

COLUMBIA (WACH) - The two bodies that were found on the corner of North Main Street and Sunset Blvd this morning has been ruled a murder-suicide.

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts said 23-year-old Aja Robinson was shot twice. 25-year-old Jeremy Mickens died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

A Columbia Police spokesperson said two bodies were found shortly before 6am near the Title Max and Sonic parking lots.

Police said an officer was flagged down by citizens after they discovered the bodies.

Before the discovery of the bodies, police say officers were called to the area for reports of gunshots.

This is another case deadly violence against women. South Carolina is #1 in the country for Domestic Violence. It has ranked in the top 10 states every year for the past 10 years.
