NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- Deputies say a 54-year-old man has been charged with murder in the shooting death of his teenage son in North Charleston.
Investigators said Michael Brown got in an argument with his 19-year-old son, who is also named Michael Brown, around 10 p.m. Saturday.
Deputies say the father was at the scene of the shooting when they arrived, and the son died a short time later at the hospital.
At a bond hearing, family members say the father was just waving the gun in the air and the son was walking away when it accidentally fired.
The father remained in jail Monday.
