Deputies arrest suspect in Woodfield killings

COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Richland County deputies say they have arrested a man believed to be responsible for killing two people on Woodfield Road.

39-year-old Leslie Todd Parvin was arrested Thursday and charged with two counts of murder.

Officials say on July 30, Parvin killed Edgar Lopez and Pablo Guzman-Gutierrez at a party on Woodfield Road.

The arrest comes after an extensive three-week search by authorities

Last week, the Community Action Team hit the streets with officers passing out flyers with a sketch of the suspect, and set up roadblocks hoping neighbors might recognize the man.

"Deputies have dedicated countless hours to bring the suspect responsible to justice and investigators are continuing to gather details about the murders," said Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott.

Lott will be holding a press conference on Monday at 2 p.m.
